Beading Collective

by Cari Chapman

RSS Feed

A few months ago the Woodland Indian Art Center received a generous donation of beads. With community in mind, we decided to pull together a beading collective and put these beads to good use.  Native, and non-Native beaders alike are welcome to join us here on Saturdays beginning November 19th.

(* Please note there are certain dates the Beading Collective will NOT be taking place, including Nov.26th due to our Holiday Art Market which will be taking place*)

The Beading Collective does have a maximum capacity for up to 20 participants and will be on a first come, first served basis so interested beaders must sign up before November 19th.

The beaders will then recieve 20 tubes of FREE beads to use as part of the Saturday sessions here at the Woodland Indian Art Center.  Each participant will agree to leave the beads here and return at least ONE Saturday per month in order to remain part of the Collective. The rules and regulations are listed in the contract the beaders will sign when agreeing to be a part of this project.

You may bring a project you are already working on ,or start something new!  From time to time, the Art Center will bring in teachers to lead a class.

We are looking forward to watching this community event evolve over the winter months! Please call us for more info or to sign up.
